How it all began:
In 1990, the sister of the current owner, Richard Groot, opened a kiosk-snack bar with 100 wooden changing rooms on Castricum beach. At the time, the place was still called “Zeebad Castricum.” Secretly, Richard had always dreamed of opening his own beach club in Castricum. When the time finally came, he was more than happy to take over his sister’s business. The wooden changing rooms quickly became luxurious beach huts with spacious terraces and wonderful sleeping areas. What could be better than falling asleep to the sound of the raging sea?

In 2004, Richard made his dream a reality. The kiosk was transformed into a fully-fledged beach pavilion and became known as “Deining.” Every guest in this new beach club in Castricum was expected to feel at home. That’s why Richard enlisted the help of renowned Amsterdam architect Minquel Loos and later stylists Debby Nuyens & Kim Koopman. Together, they created a trendy beach club with a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere.

The atmosphere at Deining is highly appreciated, and the beach club is becoming one of the most famous in Castricum. But fulfilled dreams at Deining are always replaced by new ones. Richard and his team are increasingly focusing on orchestrating festive and corporate events and organizing the most beautiful day of everyone’s life: your wedding! The beach and the fresh sea air make every event a unique experience.
